London workshop for handmade jewellery
Autrum Gallery in Marylebone Village, London unique handmade jewellery
Gallery/Workshop for handcrafted jewellery in London

The Autrum Gallery (the name refers to both Aurum, the Latin word for gold and Marion’s own surname) opened in Central London’s Marylebone Village in December 1999. This refreshingly uncluttered venue, with its simple décor and unusual handcrafted jewellery pieces, immediately caught the attention of people living and working in the area. They were also fascinated to watch Marion at work.

An integrated workbench
Marion Autrum imported the novel idea (common in Germany but highly unusual in England) of integrating a workbench within the Gallery. Since then the Gallery has continued to set an individual path, attracting customers jaded by mass-market jewellery and looking for an original approach to handcrafted jewellery and a sense of flair. They are naturally drawn to the workbench that sends a strong statement of vibrant creativity.

With her infectious passion for her work, Marion likes to involve her customers in the creative process when they commission a piece of handcrafted jewellery.
They can see it “come to life” at the workbench, allowing them to understand the intricacies of goldsmithing and to appreciate the value of the final product.

Alongside her own handcrafted jewellery, Marion also displays the work of
other international goldsmith-designers who share her enthusiasm for
creative contemporary jewellery design.
